This Privacy Statement describes Verita’s privacy practices for the services Verita provides through websites it creates, configures, and hosts on behalf of its clients and for the websites located at www.veritaglobal.com and www.veritaglobal.net.

What information does Verita obtain about you, how is it obtained, and what does Verita use it for?
Verita collects personal information through its websites to enable Verita to provide our online services to our clients. When referring to personal information, Verita means information that is about you or that can help identify you. You may be asked to provide personal information such as your name, address, phone number, date of birth, employee identification number, geolocation data, email address, and bank account details. Verita may also receive personal information about you from a third party authorized by you, such as a class action defendant or another intermediary acting on your behalf. Verita may also receive personal information about you from third parties in connection with verification of your identity and services provided to its clients.
Each site visitor (“User”) is provided with a dedicated website that houses all pertinent information regarding a specific legal case. Verita typically provides its services through websites that Verita creates, configures, and hosts on behalf of the client. Verita operates its websites and collects usage data about Users at the direction of, and in accordance with, the instructions of Verita’s clients.
Verita’s arrangements with its clients may require Verita to provide all User information in Verita’s possession, including a User’s personal information, directly to the client with which the User is associated (i.e., the User’s employer or a party to a legal action). If a User corresponds with Verita, Verita may keep a record of that correspondence. Verita does not transfer any personal User information to any third party (other than Verita’s client) unless Verita is authorized to do so by the client with which the User is associated, in connection with the services that Verita provides to its client, or where it is required to do so by applicable law. Verita may use automated tools, including AI-assisted technologies, to support these activities in a controlled and secure manner.
Personal information may be accessed by authorized personnel, including individuals responsible for system administration, technical support, security, and development of our services, solely as necessary to perform their job functions. Such access is limited to what is necessary for legitimate business purposes, including maintaining, troubleshooting, securing, and improving systems and services. All personnel with access to personal information are subject to confidentiality obligations and are required to handle such information in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements.
Verita may share your information with Verita-affiliated companies and with other third-party service providers as necessary, including providers of AI-assisted tools, hosting, data storage, payment processing, analytics, and technical support, as well as vendors that support the development, maintenance, and security of its systems.
These service providers may access and process personal information solely as necessary to perform services on behalf of Verita, including for system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of its services. All such providers are contractually required to:
- process personal information only in accordance with Verita’s instructions;
- maintain the confidentiality and security of the information;
- implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards; and
- not use personal information for their own purposes, including training artificial intelligence models.
Verita does not permit service providers to sell or otherwise use personal information for unrelated purposes, and requires that any further disclosure be limited to what is necessary to provide the contracted services and subject to equivalent confidentiality and data protection obligations.

In order to improve the quality of the website and services, Verita may from time to time send you what is known as a “cookie” as permitted by applicable laws and regulations. A cookie is a piece of text that a website transfers to your computer’s hard drive. This cookie does not allow Verita access to your hard drive, but it assists in identifying, for example, whether you have visited the website on a previous occasion. Only the site that posted the cookie can read it.
You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of the website. Additionally, Verita may collect information through the use of pixels, device IDs, and similar technologies. A pixel is a line of code that is used by a website or third party to assign online activities to a computer or browser. The use of a pixel allows websites and us to record, for example, that a user has visited a particular website. Additional information from an earlier period or interaction may be included in the pixel. Currently, Verita does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers.
If you access an online service maintained by Verita, we may use analytics tools, including Google Analytics, which help us understand website traffic and usage. Security Precautions to Protect Personal Information
Verita employs appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes controls governing the use of automated and AI-assisted tools to ensure that personal information is processed securely and in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Personal information is encrypted for transfer, only authorized personnel can access personal information, and multi-factor authentication is required for access to sensitive data. Verita’s security procedures may require you to provide proof of identification before releasing personal information to you. This proof may be in addition to any password required to gain access to its online service. Multiple incorrect attempts or invalidation will result in a lockout from the information. Verita undergoes periodic reviews of its security policies and procedures to help ensure that its systems are secure and protected.
Verita will never initiate an email to you requesting your personal information. You should never divulge your identification numbers, username, or password to anyone else. You should also never write your password down or store it on your computer and you should make sure you change it regularly.
Data Retention
Verita retains your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. Once your personal information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automated Processing
Verita may use automated tools and artificial intelligence (“AI”) technologies to support certain administrative functions, including data processing, fraud detection, administrative communications, and communications related to settlement administration. You will be informed when you are interacting with automated systems. AI tools are used as support mechanisms and do not replace human judgment.
Verita processes personal information using AI only as necessary to perform services in accordance with applicable law, court orders, and client instructions. Verita applies data minimization principles and limits processing to what is required for these purposes. Verita takes reasonable steps to ensure such processing is fair, transparent, and does not result in unlawful discrimination.
Decisions that materially affect claim outcomes, including claim eligibility, fraud detection, or payment determinations, are not made solely by automated means without human review. Where required by applicable law, you may have the right to request human review or otherwise exercise applicable data protection rights. Verita does not use your personal information submitted in connection with a settlement to train or fine-tune any AI model, whether internal, proprietary, or third-party.
Verita may engage third-party service providers, including AI technology providers, to process personal information on its behalf. These providers are contractually required to:
- process personal information only in accordance with Verita’s instructions;
- implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards; and
- comply with applicable data protection laws.
Verita does not permit such providers to use your personal information for their own independent purposes, including training AI models. Certain AI providers may temporarily retain inputs and outputs in logs for purposes such as security, debugging, or abuse monitoring. Such data is retained only for a limited period and handled in accordance with the vendor’s contractual obligations and applicable data protection laws.
Verita regularly reviews and updates its AI practices to ensure compliance with evolving legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. Any material changes to Verita’s use of AI or related data processing practices will be reflected in updates to this Privacy Statement.
Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
Before Verita launches new systems or makes significant changes to its data processing activities, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) are conducted to identify and mitigate privacy risks. PIAs help ensure that your personal information is protected in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
